Barbados is known for some amazing hotels and beaches. We had the pleasure of enjoying a staycation at Almond Beach Resort. Almond Beach Resort is located just north of the historic town of Speightstown. Neither of us had actually stayed at an all-inclusive hotel so this was our first all-inclusive experience. For a staycation the all-inclusive experience was just so perfect, we loved not having to worry about anything!

Saturday Afternoon at Almond Beach Resort

We checked into Almond Beach Resort around 3pm the Saturday afternoon. The check in process was so easy. They gave us an envelope with a map, and any details that you needed to know, mostly when and where to eat and drink, the most important things! We were escorted to our room, which had a big bed and a balcony looking out to the beach!

We quickly decided that we needed to make the most of this beautiful afternoon and walk around the property. We didn’t get too far before we made our first stop at Enid’s for some fries and a rum punch. The service here was so amazing, the food came quickly and the staff were so friendly!

With the staff of Enid’s

After our snack and a quick drink we followed the pathway around the property. We passed the kid’s club and a pool and continued following the pathway along the beachfront. The gardens were so beautifully manicured and we couldn’t help but stop and admire some beautiful flowers along the way. We passed another pool along the beachfront which was pretty busy. Finally we reached a quiet area, walked through some gates and walked out onto this beauty…

A beautiful old mill

After a few pictures we found the adults only pool. We jumped in and enjoyed a peaceful swim with awesome views of the mill. It was such a beautiful spot! After our swim we headed back to our room and changed. We had to go take in the sunset, it never gets old, you always have to enjoy the small things in life. So naturally we grabbed a couple of cocktails and picked the best seat in the house and waited patiently. After the sun went down we moved over to The Reef Restaurant for dinner, which was a buffet. The food was amazing, we ate everything we could and washed it down with a couple glasses of wine. The perfect way to end a great day.

Sunday Morning

The next morning we enjoyed coffees on our balcony and then headed down to breakfast which was another buffet! I was so excited for a buffet breakfast because I never get enough bacon when I order breakfast, in what world is three slices of bacon a serving size?! Anyway I digress, after an ample amount of bacon and an amazing ham and cheese omelet we went for a walk along the beach. I always find walking the beach in the morning is such a magical time, it’s so quiet and the sun isn’t crazy hot yet, it’s just perfect really.

Mornings on the beach by Almond Beach Resorts

We chilled out on some beach chairs and watched a group head out on a snorkeling trip. There were so many activities available here including special Island Safari tours around Barbados. We were just happy to spend our weekend relaxing. If you’re coming to Barbados for a visit or even if you are a local looking for a weekend escape I would definitely recommend a visit to Almond Beach Resort. Their amazing and friendly staff take such good care of you. If sitting on the beach isn’t relaxing enough for you then you can visit their spa and get a massage. If that doesn’t work then just hit the bar and have a few cocktails and enjoy!
