If you are looking for good food followed by a good party then Second Street is the place to come. Second Street is lined with restaurants and bars each offering a unique menu. More specifically, Sitar is the place to visit. If you are craving some good Indian food make a reservation at Sitar.

We received a complimentary dinner, but our blog posts, as always, are our own.

Sitar

If you are thinking of hanging out down Second Street after dinner then make a reservation for about 8pm, or  later. Trust me, things don’t start to pick up until very late these days. Sitar is located at the end of Second Street, you can’t miss it. They have just redone their entrance giving it a more authentic look. As you walk in you feel as if you’ve been transported to India. The interior is bold with red and gold elements with beautiful soft lighting. The friendly staff welcome you as you walk in.

Food

We ordered a lovely Malbec by the glass and placed our orders. We didn’t have to wait very long before there was food on our table. The first thing that arrived were some poppadoms and three different dips. We tried all of them, Jason loved the tamarind sauce and I surprisingly loved the onions.. weird. Once we cleaned up the plate of poppadoms we were treated to some onion garlic nan bread. This is definitely Jason’s favorite thing ever. Our main courses showed up right after the nan bread, and they looked amazing! We shared a basmati rice and each got our own curries. If you aren’t used to the spice then make sure to tell them to lower the heat! If you cant finish all of your food then take it home! There’s nothing better than leftovers the next day for lunch! So what did we end up eating for our mains? Here are our recommendations:

Jason: Garlic Nan Bread followed by Butter Chicken with Basmati rice.

Stacey: Lamb madras curry with Basmati rice.

After

Sitar is the perfect place to sit and have a couple more drinks before you explore the rest of Second Street. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The staff were friendly and helpful. This year is their 19th year in the business so you know they are doing something right! We are looking forward to how they are planning to celebrate their 20th. As I am writing this they are offering loads of summer specials, which includes 40% of bottles of wine on Fridays… need I say more? If dining out isn’t quite your thing then have no fear, they do take out as well. Order your take out on Thursday evening to make the most of their 30% off special!
